The Vendée Globe is a single-handed (solo), non-stop race around the world that starts and finishes in Les Sables-d'Olonne, France.

The race occurs every four years and takes competitors over 70 days to complete the 25,000nm course around the globe. 

​

Sailors must compete on IMOCA 60 racing yachts, designed within a 'box rule'.
